I had THE most awesome time this morning. I live in Westernport right near the bike course for the Westernport Wall section of the Savageman triathlon. Watching these bikers climb up such a steep grade was absolutely amazing! I've been reading a lot about Bjorn Andersson from Sweden because he is last years winner and a professional. Got to see him going up the hill this morning although he was in 2nd right behind someone else. And I talked to a girl from Ottawa whose husband was in the race. She later came down and told me he'd made it up the hill. I think I screamed "You can do it", to every biker that passed by me on the hill. It was so exciting and I love seeing a few words of encouragement making a biker hunker down and dig in. Every year there seem to be more and more spectators. Can't wait for next years already! Oh and you should've seen some of the wrecks. Some were brutal and looked very painful. Of course this 56 mile bike ride is preceded by a 1.2 mile swim and followed by a 13.1 mile double loop around Deep Creek. Anyway, that's my new update. Awesome morning. Perfect weather too!
